Canada’s Premiers to meet in Alberta in 2017

July 22, 2016 – The next Council of the Federation summer meeting will be held in
Edmonton on July 17-19, 2017.

“A strong partnership among our provinces and territories is essential to meeting our shared concerns in a strong Canada. I look forward to welcoming the Premiers to the heart of the West, as we build on what we accomplished this year in Yukon and address emerging issues,” said Rachel Notley, Premier of Alberta.

The Council of the Federation was created in 2003 to promote provincial-territorial co- operation and closer ties among members, foster meaningful relations among governments based on respect for the Constitution and recognition of the diversity within the federation, and show leadership on issues important to all Canadians.
