August 29, 2014 – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
The Honourable Tom Marshall, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, is pleased to announce
that the 2015 meeting of Canada's Premiers will be held in Newfoundland and Labrador from
July 14-18, 2015.
"This meeting of Canada's Premiers presents an excellent opportunity for provinces and
territories to discuss issues of importance to all Canadians and to further address priorities
leading up to the 2015 federal election," said Premier Marshall.
"Historic and beautiful Newfoundland and Labrador will provide a culturally and geographically
rich setting for these talks to occur. We look forward to hosting this important meeting."
The Council of the Federation was created in 2003 to promote provincial-territorial cooperation
and closer ties between members, foster meaningful relations between governments based on
respect for the Constitution and recognition of the diversity within the federation, and show
leadership on issues important to all Canadians.
