In 2010, Premiers endorsed the Council of the Federation Water Charter, which recognizes the collective obligation of Canadians and their governments to be responsible water stewards. To this end, Premiers established the Water Stewardship Council (WSC) in June 2011.
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall led the 2010 mission to Washington, D.C., which focused on trade and border issues, energy and the environment. During the mission, Premiers and Governors met as part of the National Governors Association (NGA) Winter Meeting.
Premiers led a delegation of more than one hundred business, research and educational institution representatives who met with Chinese counterparts to discuss and initiate new projects between China and Canada.
